Hi!
I'm Shana - and I'm happy you're here!
I’ve spent more than 30 years building a career, working hard, and creating a stable life.
And somewhere along the way, I started asking myself a bigger question:
What do I actually want the next part of my life to look like?
The idea of working for decades, getting close to retirement, and suddenly being expected to live on a fraction of what I was used to didn't sit right with me.
I wanted options.
More control over my income. More freedom with my time. And the ability to build a future that didn't depend entirely on one job or one paycheck.
So instead of waiting until i needed another option, I started building one.
I began learning how to create income on line, trying different things, figuring out what actually worked for me, and building something I could grow alongside the career I already had.
At the same time, I was fighting for a completely different kind of freedom.
My health changed the way I looked at everything.
For years, I knew something wasn't right.
I asked questions. I went to appointments. I had labs done. And for far too long, I still wasn't getting the answers I needed.
Eventually, I realized I had to become a much more active participant in my own healthcare.
I started researching.
I started keeping better records.
I started learning which questions to ask, which labs mattered to me, and how to walk into an appointment prepared instead of hoping someone else would connect all the dots.
I stopped settling for being dismissed. I started pushing for clarity.
And that experience changed far more than my health.
It changed the way I approached my life.
That's really how ITLBFUN became what it is today.
This isn't a website where I pretend I have everything figured out.
It's where I share what I'm actually doing, what I'm learning, what hasn't, and the tools and resources I've found useful along the way.
Some of that is about health and learning how to advocate for yourself.
Some of it is about building additional income and creating more options for your future.
And some of it is simply about realizing you don't have to keep doing things the same way just because that's the way you've always done them.
You can ask more questions.
You can learn something new.
You can change direction.
You can build more options.
You don't have to have the entire plan figured out before you start.
I certainly didn't.
I'm still building mine.
And if something I've learned along the way makes your path a little easier, saves you some frustration, gives you a resource you didn't know existed, or simply makes you think, "Maybe I could do that too," then ITLBFUN is doing exactly what I want it to do.
